Overview:

  • Step counter, wheel encoder for motors
  • used to record the position and rotational speed of a motor
  • consists of an optical sensor (light barrier) (fork light barrier, phototransistor) and a slotted disk
  • is connected to a microcontroller with an enclosed three-pole pin header
  • the sensor detects slits in the rotating disk and generates a pulse sequence from them
  • supplies 5V when the beam is blocked (0V when the beam is unblocked)
  • Power supply: 5V
  • Output signal: digital
  • Reading frequency: up to 100KHz
  • Outer diameter of the slotted disk: 26mm
  • PCB dimensions: 22*20mm
