Information on electrical and electronic equipment

The proper and environmentally friendly disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment is also an important topic for us. In the following, we would therefore like to inform you about the various disposal options with the aim of sustainable recycling of raw materials.

How do I know that an electrical or electronic device falls under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)?

Electronic equipment placed on the European market must be marked with the "crossed-out wheeled garbage can" symbol.

Garbage can
The "crossed-out wheeled garbage can" symbol indicates to the end user that waste electrical or electronic equipment should not be disposed of with household waste, but separately from it.

Information about the obligation to take back old electronic devices (disposal of old electronic devices)

As a distributor of electrical and electronic equipment, Funduino GmbH is legally obligated to take back old equipment. The quantities in which Funduino GmbH is obligated to take back old equipment can be viewed at the "Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register" (EAR).

When purchasing an electronic device of the following categories, you can request a free collection of your old device:

  • Category 1 (ElektroG) - Heat exchangers (e.g. air conditioning electronics)
  • Category 2 (ElektroG) - Screens, monitors and devices containing them with a surface area of more than 100cm²
  • Category 3 (ElektroG) - large appliances (applies if one dimension (length, width or height) of the product is >50cm)

If there is a danger to the health and safety of people due to contamination, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance.

We point out that old batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps from old devices must be removed before returning (as far as possible without destroying the old device).

Funduino GmbH is registered at the "Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register" (EAR) with the WEEE-REG.-Nr. DE 28661619.

If you want to dispose of an electronic waste device, please contact us. Please note our data protection information. In principle, we recommend that you refrain from attaching personal data to the old device. Therefore, please make sure that no personal data can be found on the old device.

In principle, all distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are obliged to take back old electronic equipment.

A return is not always necessary

As an online store for microelectronics and accessories, among other things, it is a matter close to our heart to point out that it is not always necessary to return old electronic devices. Many electronic components can be reused, many "defective" devices can be repaired with a few simple steps.

If you need help with the repair of an electronic device, we recommend the "Netzwerk Reparatur-Initiativen"(https://www.reparatur-initiativen.de/orte).
