H-Bridges for Arduino: for controlling motors and valves
An H-bridge must not be missing in projects in which at least two electric motors or valves are controlled simultaneously. It consists of a total of four switches, usually in the form of transistors, which are connected in an H-shaped arrangement. This shape gives the module its name.
The special feature of H-bridges in microelectronics, primarily for Arduino microcontrollers, is their unique electronic properties. By using H-bridges, the direction and speed of rotation of electric motors can be influenced. So, we can no longer have motors rotate only clockwise, but also counterclockwise. This is made possible by switching transistors of different polarity.
L298N H-bridge for Arduino microcontroller
Possibly the best known H-bridge in microelectronics is the "L298N" type bridge. The red L298N H-bridge is an integral part of many electronic projects, such as the automated line tracker chassis. The bridge is relatively compact and relatively easy to handle. If you want to learn more, have a look at our manual for this module. You can find the product in our online store here.
