Overview:

  • The AMG8833 is an 8x8 infrared thermal imaging sensor
  • Connects to microcontrollers such as the Raspberry Pi via I2C
  • Measures temperature and provides 64 separate temperature values that can be displayed as individual pixels
  • Offers higher performance than its predecessor AMG8831
  • Compact and easy to integrate

  • Sensor size: 8x8 infrared sensor array
  • Temperature range: 0°C to 80°C
  • Accuracy: ±2.5°C
  • Detection range: human detection up to 7 meters
  • Maximum frame rate: 10 Hz
  • Interface: I2C I2C
  • Interrupt pin: Configurable, triggers when a threshold value is exceeded
  • Applications: Ideal for body detection and mini cameras
  • Compatibility: Arduino and Raspberry Pi (with Python and SciPy for image processing)
