Funduino PLC coupler - securely connect Siemens PLCs and other 24V systems to the DOBOT Magician
The Funduino PLC Coupler enables a reliable and galvanically isolated coupling between a Siemens PLC with 24 V logic and the DOBOT Magician via its GP2 port or other available parts.
The module was specially developed to connect industrial PLC signals to the 3.3 V I/O logic of the DOBOT safely and without risk to the robot.
Safe voltage adaptation in both directions
As the DOBOT Magician does not tolerate 24 V signals, the Funduino PLC coupler integrates two galvanically isolated optocouplers/level converters:
24 V → 3.3 V (4-channel)
PLC outputs can be safely routed to a digital input of the robot (e.g. start signal).
3.3 V → 24 V (4-channel)
The robot can safely report status or ready signals back to the PLC.
This enables robust bidirectional communication between the PLC and robot - without a direct electrical connection and without the risk of overvoltage damage

Simple integration on the GP2 port
The Funduino PLC coupler is designed to use the EIO14 / EIO15 pins on the GP2 port of the DOBOT Magician as recommended by the manufacturer.
A pre-assembled 4-pin GP2 connector facilitates connection and reduces wiring errors.
In addition, however, all channels of the optocouplers are available. A total of 8 channels.
