VL6180X - "Time of Flight" laser - distance sensor / gesture sensorwith voltage regulator module.

The VL6180 is a time-of-flight sensor and thus determines the distance to the target based on the "time of flight". The sensor contains a laser source and a matching sensor. Communication is done via the I2C bus. 

Overview:

  • Measuring range: 5 mm to 100 mm recommended
  • Supply voltage: 3 V to 5 V
  • I2C interface for control and data
  • two programmable GPIOs (only for  0- 2.8V)

Interessantes Teil

Funktioniert soweit wie angegeben. Geht auch leicht zu programmieren. Allerdings hatte ich mir die Wiederholgenauigkeit besser vorgestellt. Beträgt so +-2 mm. Ist aber noch akzeptabel für meinen Fall.
Was man leider nicht recht beurteilen kann, ist der "Abstrahlwinkel". Der scheint recht groß, was zu merkwürdigen Ergebnissen führen kann. Da der Laser aber nicht sichtbar ist, kann ich das nicht genau sagen. Ich brauche max 150 mm, aber auf engem Raum, da scheint es gerade so zu gehen.
