Product Description

The dispensing syringe is an expansion module for the DOBOT Magician and enables the automated dispensing of liquids in precisely measured quantities. It is mounted directly on the tool flange of the robot arm and is fully controlled via the robot’s control system.

The module operates using a pneumatic drive mechanism, which can also be implemented using a stepper motor configuration if desired. Each stroke dispenses 0.05 ml, enabling accurate dosing of a wide variety of liquids. The tubing connections can be easily disconnected, and the interchangeable needles come in different diameters to accommodate various viscosities and flow rates.

Typical applications include filling capsules or containers with medications, dyes, or chemicals; applying adhesive to assemblies; and mixing two liquids in precise doses. In research, the module can be used for repetitive dispensing tasks, such as preparing test kits or conducting laboratory experiments.

Operation requires a fully functional DOBOT Magician with up-to-date control software. Pneumatic versions require a compressed air supply with a pressure regulator; a stepper motor version requires corresponding control extensions. Depending on the liquid, the module may need to be cleaned between uses to prevent hardening or adhesive residue.

Safety Note

The retractable needle must be fully retracted before transport and storage. Work on or near the electrical systems of the robot system must be performed by a qualified electrician; consult a qualified electrician regarding the correct integration or safety of the dispensing system prior to commissioning. This module is intended exclusively for prototype construction as well as testing and development purposes.

5* 20-ml syringes from BBraun
2* beakers (capacity approx. 80 ml) with mount for the Funduino Workspace—work area for the DOBOT Magician
1* Holder for 5* acrylic test tubes, compatible with the Funduino Workspace—work area for the DOBOT Magician
5* plastic test tubes (100×16 mm)
Instead of a cannula, we provide a suitable piece of silicone tubing. This tubing has the advantage of reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring that the servo motor does not have to work too hard in the event of improper use. When working with liquids, the draw speed must not be too high, as the liquid can only flow slowly into the syringe through a thin cannula.
We will only include a blunt cannula upon prior request.
