Product Description

A shaft coupling connects two drive shafts in such a way that torque is transmitted while simultaneously accommodating misalignment. The flexible component features a flexible plastic or elastomer core sandwiched between two metal halves.

This design allows for a certain amount of radial and axial misalignment between the shafts and dampens vibrations and torque spikes. The connection is secured on both sides using screws or pins on the hubs, eliminating the need for time-consuming centering work.

Applications include powertrains with electric motors, gearboxes, and pumps where loads occur intermittently or the shafts are not perfectly aligned. Typical applications are found in laboratory automation, model making, and prototype assemblies.

The nominal torque of the motor and the output devices is critical for selection, as the coupling is designed only up to its load limit. The mounting flanges must correspond to the respective shaft diameter.
