Product Description
A flexible shaft coupling connects two shafts that are not perfectly aligned, transferring the motor’s torque to the driven shaft. The elastomer element inside compensates for angular and axial misalignment between the shafts without requiring rigid guides.
The coupling is slid onto both shafts and secured in place with set screws. The flexible material between the two hub sections enables torque transmission while also filtering out vibrations and torsional oscillations from the drive. This reduces the load on downstream components such as bearings or gearboxes.
The coupling is used wherever the motor and driven machine are not perfectly aligned or where vibrations need to be reduced. Typical applications include model-building projects with gearmotors, workshop machinery, or robotic systems where drive shafts need to be coupled.
The bore diameters are available in several sizes to fit different motor shafts and output shafts. When selecting a coupling, the diameters of both shafts must be known. Excessive misalignment or eccentricity will shorten the service life.
