The BMP180 is an air pressure sensor module that uses piezo technology to achieve a measurement resolution of up to 0.02hPa.
Measuring the absolute ambient pressure with such a digital barometer has a number of interesting applications. By converting the measured pressure into altitude, you have a reliable sensor for determining the altitude of your robot, aircraft or projectile!
The device operates at only 0.3 A, i.e. reduced power consumption for battery-powered applications.
The BMP180 is fully calibrated and ready to use. Using I2C, the device provides pressure and temperature as 16-bit values, which are used together with the calibration data in the device to provide a temperature-compensated altitude calculation.
Based on Bosch's proven piezoresistive pressure sensor technology, which is characterized by high accuracy and linearity as well as long-term stability and high EMC robustness.
Overview:
- Measurement data output: 16-bit data format
- Pressure range: 300 - 1100 hPa
- Temperature range: -40 - 85°C
- Absolute accuracy: +/- 0.12hPa, +/- 0.5°C
- Interface: I2C
- Maximum I2C speed: 3.5 MHz
- Very accurate - up to 17 cm (0.02 hPa)
- Supply voltage of the sensor from 1.8 V to 3.6 V. As the sensor is installed on a breakout board, the 5V voltage of the microcontroller can be used here. The voltage is adjusted there for the sensor.
