Charging module step-down constant voltage or constant current module with MPPT function.
Charging batteries on solar panels can more than double the charging current, effectively shortening the charging time. The maximum current of this product is 5A, input voltage up to 36V. It can charge rechargeable batteries, lithium batteries, etc. with charging indicator function to facilitate the monitoring of charging status.
Scope of application:
- Power adapter with constant current function, can supply power to electronic devices
- Charge different batteries, set the charging voltage and charging current according to the battery with different voltage and capacity, with charging indicator function, convenient to observe the charging status.
- With constant current function, it can prevent battery overcharging and effectively protect the battery.

Translated usage information:
Please do not connect the negative leads of the input and output contacts!
If the module has no output voltage, please turn the MPPT adjustment potentiometer clockwise first until a voltage output occurs.
-
Set the output voltage: Adjust the constant voltage potentiometer (CV) according to the float charge voltage value of the battery you want to charge or the voltage value of the LED after series or parallel connection, and set the output voltage to the desired voltage. (without load connection)
-
Setting the current display for switch on light: After setting the output voltage, turn the CC potentiometer counterclockwise about 20 turns, use a multimeter to short-circuit the 20A current output, adjust the CC potentiometer to the required current value, and then adjust the rotary light potentiometer until the green light just turns on.
-
Set a constant current value: After setting the lamp current, the 20A current range of the multimeter still has a short circuit output. (A direct wire short-circuit output with a voltage and current meter can be used) Adjust the CC potentiometer to the desired current value. When setting the output current with the short-circuit method, the actual charging current is less than the set short-circuit current, which means that the battery has residual voltage. If you want to set an exact charging current, please connect the discharged battery to the output and then set the output current.
Attention: When setting the constant current, the voltage should be higher than 1.25 V, otherwise the constant current function will fail.

Set the MPPT voltage value:
A. Method of using an adjustable regulated power supply: Adjust the adjustable regulated power supply to the desired voltage value (e.g. 18V), output without load, and when the module has an output voltage, turn the MPPT adjustment potentiometer counterclockwise to the critical point where the output voltage just decreases.
B. Direct adjustment method with a solar panel: Connect the input directly to the solar panel, adjust the output voltage according to the load, block part of the light shining on the solar panel, and connect the output to the load. Measure the output voltage of the solar panel with a multimeter (switch to the input voltage display with a voltmeter) and adjust the MPPT potentiometer until the solar panel voltage reaches the high power point voltage. (The actual high power point voltage of solar panels is lower than the rated voltage, e.g. for 18V solar panels, the high power point is about 17.5V)
You can also set the MPPT value by measuring the output current and switching the current range of the multimeter between the output and the load in series (with a measuring head that can be switched to current display) to set the MPPT potentiometer to the maximum output current.
Caution: When directly setting the MPPT value with a solar panel, if the power output from the solar panel is greater than the load power, please first block part of the light shining on the solar panel to reduce the power of the solar panel to accurately set the MPPT value.
The MPPT value is set to the solar panel. The charging current at the high power point is 1.651A, which almost doubles the charging current, and the effect is quite significant.
