    The OpenManipulator was developed by ROBOTIS as an add-on module for the Turtlebot3 Waffle Pi.     The OpenManipulator was developed by ROBOTIS as an add-on module for the Turtlebot3 Waffle Pi. As a result, this robot arm is fully supported by the ROS (Robot Operating System) and is therefore predestined for mobile manipulation.
    In addition, this robot arm can of course also be used independently, which is why a corresponding adapter plate (Base Plate-02) can be ordered as an option.

    The OpenManipulator is based on DYNAMIXEL servomotors from the X series in combination with the OpenCR1.0 as the control unit. The servomotors that can be used range from the XL430 to the XM430 and XH430 series, which can be operated with up to 24V if the V series is selected. This means that this robot arm can already be used in small industrial applications.

    When using the OpenManipulator independently of the TB3 Waffle Pi, the addition of the so-called ROBOTIS OpenManipulator Stand Alone Kit is recommended. This includes the Base Plate-02 and a corresponding power supply.

    Turtlebot 3 Waffle Pi

    The OpenManipulator was not only developed as a stand-alone device, but can also be operated in combination with Turtlebot 3 Waffle Pi. It goes without saying that the robot arm is open source and the integration is fully documented.
