Learning, programming, playing - The PicoBoy

The Picoboy is a powerful mini handheld measuring just 3 x 5 cm. It is suitable for learning programming, developing your own games or simply playing with it. An introduction to programming with the Arduino environment and MicroPython is available at

as the PicoBoy is compatible with the Raspberry Pi Pico and the Arduino environment, countless other tutorials, examples and libraries can be found online to make programming easier.

  • 1.3" display with 128 x 64 pixels (SH1106)
  • rP2040 microcontroller makes it compatible with the Raspberry Pi Pico
  • 2 x 133 MHz ARM M0+
  • 2 MB Flash
  • 264 KB RAM
  • USB-C interface for programming and data transfer
  • 5-way joystick
  • Acceleration sensor STK8BA58 (can now also be used in Python!)
  • 3 pre-installed games
  • Power supply via USB-C or a CR2032 button cell

Notes:

  • A PC or Mac and a USB-C cable are required for programming.
  • The Picoboy can be programmed under Windows, Linux and macOS. However, the tutorial only refers to Windows.

Super Geraet zum Spielen und Programmieren mit Kindern.

Habe nur noch nicht herausgefunden, wie man den Lautsprecher benutz. Ein oeffentliches GitHub-Repo mit Issues waere hilfreich.

Bin zufrieden

Nette Spielerei mit offener Schnittstelle um selber Hand anzulegen. "Tetris", "Snake" und "Schach" sind vorinstalliert. Das DIng zieht in jedem Fall die Blicke auf sich, wenn man es in der Bahn oder so aus der Tasche zieht. Eine Hülle zum selber Drucken wäre noch cool ;)
