This WS2812 shield can be plugged onto an Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller or other microcontrollers of the same design. This allows colorful effects to be programmed very quickly with the microcontroller.

WS2812 are intelligent LEDs, also known as pixels. They are addressable and all LEDs on this shield can be controlled via a single data line.
