Product Description

These 1,000 yellow LEDs are designed for use in signaling circuits, display panels, and educational projects. The standard LED package, featuring a 5-mm housing and lead wires, can be soldered directly into breadboards or circuits.

Each LED requires a forward voltage of approximately 2 V and a current draw of approximately 20 mA. In practice, this means that a pull-down resistor must be placed in series with each LED to limit the current draw and protect the LED from overload. Small circuits can be controlled via individual microcontroller pins, while larger setups require additional driver electronics.

In educational and project settings, LEDs are used to provide visual feedback on measurement values or process states. A common scenario is the use of indicator lights in meter or sensor projects, for example, to visually indicate the detection of motion or brightness thresholds. Larger quantities are also used in simple display panels or when building prototypes for status indicators.

Operation requires a power supply whose voltage must be sized appropriately for the selected circuit topology. Protective resistors and, if necessary, driver modules for multi-digit or matrix-controlled arrays must be procured separately.
