Product Description
The leveling sensor is a capacitive distance measurement module that detects the height of the print bed without touching it. In 3D printing, the sensor handles the automatic bed leveling function; it signals the controller when the print bed has reached the correct position. The measurement system uses capacitive sensing, which reacts to proximity rather than relying on direct contact. This prevents wear caused by constant probing and enables more precise measurements even on various surface materials.
The sensor reliably detects the print bed from a distance of up to 5 mm, which is sufficient for most commercially available print beds. The 24-V power supply is directly compatible with the specified printer models. The four-pin JST connector fits directly into the corresponding socket on the control board, eliminating the need for additional wiring. The sensor electronics are factory-calibrated and function without further adjustments after installation.
The module is suitable for automated printing on various surfaces where a constant print bed position is critical, such as during multi-layer printing or when switching between materials like PLA and PETG. Users whose print quality suffers from uneven layer heights can regain reproducibility with the leveling sensor. The capacitive method is also advantageous for use at higher ambient temperatures, as it is not susceptible to thermal deformation of the probe tip.
