Grove - Piezo vibration sensor
The Grove piezo vibration sensor is suitable for measuring strain, vibration, shock and touch. The module is based on the PZT film sensor LDT0-028K. LDTM-028K is a vibration sensor where the sensing element consists of an external cantilever loaded by an additional mass to provide high sensitivity at low frequencies. When the sensor moves back and forth, the voltage comparator inside generates a certain voltage. A wide dynamic range (0.001 Hz ~ 1000 MHz) guarantees excellent measurement performance. And you can adjust the sensitivity by adjusting the integrated potentiometer.
Features
- High sensitivity to strong shocks: With the help of the LDT0-028K PZT foil sensor, you no longer have to worry about sensor damage from large shocks when measuring strain, vibration, impact and touch.
- Wide dynamic range: Detectable range of up to 0.1 Hz to 180 Hz, making this sensor more suitable for measuring various applications.
- Easy sensitivity adjustment: Adjust the sensitivity of the built-in potentiometer by adjusting the screw.
- Grove unit plug-in system: The sensor ensures "plug and play" and can be used for various applications.
Application
- Vibration detection in the washing machine
- Low-power wake-up switch
- Low-cost vibration detection
- Car alarm systems
- Body movement
- Security systems

What is Grove?
Grove facilitates connection, experimentation and simplifies the prototyping process. No jumpers or soldering are required. More than 300 Grove modules have been developed to cover a wide range of applications and fulfill a variety of requirements. Not only the hardware is open source, but also the software. Instructional PDF documents and a wiki are provided for Grove users (especially beginners).
We offer various Grove Shields to enable connection to the Grove system with various microcontrollers.
