The VEML7700 ambient light sensor can measure illumination levels from 0 to 120,000 lux and can be used with 3V to 5V power/logic microcontrollers. The sensor is therefore compatible with Arduino and ESP projects.
This is a simple lux sensor that can easily be added to any microcontroller. Most light sensors only give you a number for brighter/darker ambient light. The VEML7700 makes processing easier by calculating lux, an SI unit for light. You get consistent readings.
The sensor has a 16-bit dynamic range for detecting ambient light from 0 lux to around 120,000 lux, with a resolution of up to 0.0036 lx/ct.
