Product Description

This silicone tubing is used to transport liquids and gases in laboratory setups, prototypes, and measurement systems. With an inner diameter of 3 mm and an outer diameter of 5 mm, it fits into typical experimental setups and is compatible with standard tubing fittings.

The material withstands temperatures from −60 °C to +200 °C, ensuring it remains leak-tight even during thermal testing. Its food-grade compliance with FDA and EU Regulation 10/2011 allows for use in fluid transport applications where contamination must be ruled out, such as when filling measuring containers or in analytical setups.

The material’s closed-cell structure resists deformation under mechanical stress more effectively than hoses with an open-cell structure would. This makes the hose less susceptible to wear and tear from repeated bending or crushing in laboratory setups.

Since the tubing is sold by the meter, it can be cut to the exact length required. Hose fittings with an inner diameter of 3 or 5 mm, designed for tubing, are standard components of common experimental setups and should be readily available. The material is not completely resistant to esters and, during prolonged storage, to some aliphatic hydrocarbons.
