How the resistor decade works
This resistor decade works with individual plug-in positions per resistor range. Each column represents one digit of the total value, for example 1 MΩ, 100 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 1 kΩ, 100 Ω, 10 Ω, 1 Ω and 0.1 Ω. The jumpers are used to select the desired numerical value from 0 to 9 for each column. The total resistance results from the sum of all set values.
Example: For 4.7 kΩ, the value 4 is set in the 1 kΩ column and the value 7 in the 100 Ω column. All other columns remain at 0, resulting in 4700 Ω.

This product is primarily intended as a learning, testing and experimentation aid. It is well suited for didactic illustration, for quickly setting resistance ranges and for simple experimental set-ups.
