Expansion board specially developed for the education sector that facilitates the learning process in dealing with microcontrollers. The module is compatible with the Nucleo-64 boards L152RE and F103RB from STMicroelectronics, which are based on the ARM Cortex-M3. Thanks to this comprehensive equipment, the Nucleo Training Base Shield M3 provides a practical and efficient introduction to microcontroller programming and application.

Technical data

• LED indicators: Each pin has its own LED indicator with driver ICs, which facilitates the visualization of signals
• Expansion options: The shield offers both female and male pin headers, an integrated breadboard and a small breadboard area for customized expansions
• LCD I²C display: A 1602 LCD with PCF8574 enables the display of information via the I²C bus
• Operating elements: Integrated push buttons (active high) and DIP switches (active high) provide additional control options; internal pull-down resistors must be set
• Analog inputs: Two potentiometers are connected to the ADCs and can be disconnected if required
• Interfaces: The shield has connections for Bluetooth modules (HC-05), a signal generator with adjustable frequency (4 Hz to 600 Hz), a JTAG connector (20 pin), PMOD interface, Grove and StemmaQT connectors for I²C pins as well as further headers for I²C, SPI, UART and PWM
• Sensors: An analog temperature sensor (TMP36) and an I²C-based temperature sensor (LM75B) are integrated and can be switched on or off via DIP switches
• Display options: The LCD1602 display can be switched between software I²C and hardware I²C to provide programming flexibility
• Other features: Switchable pull-up resistors for I²C buses, connections for joysticks, OLED displays (SSD1306), ESP-01 modules, GND tap for oscilloscopes, switchable RGB LEDs on PWM outputs and a connection for servo motors.
