Grove - 8-channel I2C multiplexer/I2C hub
The Grove - 8-channel I2C multiplexer/I2C hub is based on the TCA9548A I2C multiplexer chip. With this hub you can connect up to 8 I2C devices with the same address to the same Grove I2C system.
Normally I2C devices use different addresses on the same bus system. Even if the Grove I2C Hub (4 or 6 ports) is used, you can only connect devices with different addresses. However, with the Grove 8-channel I2C hub, you can connect up to 8 I2C devices with the same address to the same Grove I2C system, thanks to the TCA9548A I2C multiplexer chip. This allows time division multiplex control of 8 devices with the same address by the same controller.
Features:
- 8 Grove I2C ports
- Supports multiple devices with the same I2C address
- Supports 3.3 V/5 V system
- 80 mm x 20 mm
Application:
- Extension of the I2C device interface
What is Grove?
Grove facilitates connection, experimentation and simplifies the prototyping process. No jumpers or soldering are required. More than 300 Grove modules have been developed to cover a wide range of applications and fulfill a variety of requirements. Not only the hardware is open source, but also the software. Instructional PDF documents and a wiki are provided for Grove users (especially beginners).
We offer various Grove Shields to enable connection to the Grove system with various microcontrollers.
