The 4th generation offers groundbreaking improvements in processor speed and thus enables smooth media playback. An update has also been provided for the RAM and connectivity compared to the previous version, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. Important features such as backwards compatibility and similarly low power consumption have been carried over to the new generation.

For end users, the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B offers solid desktop performance comparable to entry-level models of regular office PCs.

Key features include a powerful 64-bit ARM v8 quad-core processor, a super-fast LPDDR4 RAM of 2 GB and support for up to two 4K displays via two micro HDMI ports. Hardware video decoding up to 4K@60Hz is also supported. The network capability of the board is ensured by a dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless LAN (WLAN) and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B offers further interfaces via two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports and a fast Bluetooth 5.0 interface. By using an additional PoE (Power over Ethernet) HAT, the computer can also be powered up via the LAN interface.

Note!

These modules have been used to a limited extent in display units and are supplied with full warranty, just like the new modules, but without original packaging.

The modules may be equipped with one or more heat sinks. If these are to be removed, e.g. because of a housing, it is advisable to turn the heat sink, push a thin strip such as dental floss through underneath or heat the adhesive with a hairdryer.
