Petoi Bittle - Bionic open-source robot dog
Petoi Bittle is a small but agile and powerful bionic robot dog. It is an ideal tool for learning, teaching and exploring four-legged robots. With a customized Arduino board coordinating all instinctive and sophisticated movements, you can plug in different sensors to enable further "perception" through sensing. You could also add artificial intelligence capabilities by combining the Bittle with a Raspberry Pi, ESP32 or other AI chip.
On the following website we have summarized more information about the "Bittle":
https://funduino.de/roboterhund-bittle-von-tinkergen-petoi
Bittle supports graphical (block-based) programming, Arduino, C, C++ and Python. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced engineer, you can bring Bittle "to life" in your own way.
Features:
Unique bionic system:
The unique bionic system can perform dynamic movements and has excellent coordination. The bionic structure of the legs gives it more freedom in unstructured terrain. This dynamic mobility has so far only been found in very high-priced robots from companies such as Boston Dynamics, Spot or Sony Aibo.
Compatible with multiple programming methods:
Bittle can be programmed at different levels in different programming environments, including Arduino IDE for the C language and Codecraft for graphical (block-based) programming. Developers and STEM teachers can also review and modify Bittle C code, which is fully open source.
Customized Arduino board:
Bittle is powered by NyBoard V1, a customized Arduino board with extensive peripherals (Atmega328P chip). It fully utilizes the chip of a normal Arduino to coordinate sophisticated movements. The board can drive at least 12 PWM servos and an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) is used for balancing.
Extensive extensions:
Raspberry Pi or other artificial intelligence chips can be installed to provide Bittle with more powerful artificial intelligence capabilities. 4 Grove interfaces can be connected to external sensors such as ultrasonic sensors and infrared sensors.
Easy to use:
Bittle is fully assembled and pre-programmed. It is therefore immediately ready for use.
Comprehensive learning environment:
Bittle has numerous course resources, 16 exclusive graphical programming courses and expansion packs in English.
